Hall Bath - Desert Home for Snowbird Nesting
A totally new hall bathroom for a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom Scottsdale area patio home is shown. My client anticipated frequent family friends and family member guests who will use this room so, we needed it to be tough and durable yet always attractive and easy to care for by anyone and everyone.
The main material on 75% of the walls and the same material on the floor is a very durable natural stone looking porcelain tile. 6" x 24" tile is on walls, 12" x 24" tile is on floors & 2" x 2" mosaic tile is on floors. The floor is a pre-planned custom floor tile pattern for the 12" x 24" tile blended with the 2" x 2" tile. The continuation of the same tile material in seamless detailing on walls and floors in a confined space gives the effect of a calm more spacious environment.
The owner preferred a fabric shower curtain for ease of replacement and was not interested in the upkeep of metal and glass shower doors and I agree. I enjoy beautiful fabrics and a "high performance" fabric or any fabric for that matter, gives a certain softness to a mostly water resistant space with all smooth, hard surface plumbing fixtures, floors, walls and ceilings.
The toilet and hardware is all Kohler and hardwood blocking was added at the start of construction so that in a limiting space we could have a medicine cabinet, safety grab bars, wall lighting for vanity mirror, towel bars, wall hooks and shower shampoo niches EXACTLY where they needed to be for ease of use and not just where a wood stud could be located.
The air exhaust humidity control and the LED lighting are all "state of the art". The light level is more soothing in reality than photos can show at this time and LED lighting for the vanity mirror and overhead LED ceiling fixture are dimmable controls. The exhaust with humidity detection sensors is programmable to self-activate which is perfect for guests who may or may not be familiar with the space. This is smart space!
Pretty space with strong easy to care for materials is SMART space and smart space makes housekeeping chores a minor event and family & friend time visiting a wonderful special event!
